The Lean Module
The lean module enables the Lean and 6 Sigma initiatives by dynamically creating a value stream map, value network map, routing analysis, and lean reports. Static value stream analyzer tools provide a snapshot of the value stream, yet with constraints changing, the created value stream is obsolete before it is published. The lean module generates a new set of maps based on the current constraints, process flow, and routing information making it the tool of choice to create and analyze the lean implementation.
Dynamic
Value Stream Map
(DVSM)
Simcad Pro dynamically computes the value stream map for each process
map and displays the results as the simulation develops. Simcad Pro also
computes all detailed maps included in sub processes or cells and analyzes
the interactions between all streams.
As time progresses Simcad Pro is calculating and displaying the value stream
metrics based on the
current scenario constraints including product mixes, resource availability,
rework ratio, setup times, and more....
With the Lean module enabled you can compare multiple value streams on
one screen and
Dynamic Value Network Map (DVNM)
Value Network Mapping is a technique used to display multiple simultaneous value stream maps while showing the interactions among them. Each value stream is created for each individual product that pass through the flow, and the network becomes the collection of all streams.
Building a network map for multiple products is a very tedious task if done manually. Moreover, manual implementation suffers form the effect of static data that does not take into consideration the changes in constraints and other outside factors. Simcad Pro is designed to create such a value network map by analyzing the process map and the product mix and constraints in the model.
Dynamic Routing Analysis
With Simcad Pro, each product's value stream is automatically computed and displayed in the value network map. The map for each process is displayed to show the efficiency and parameters of the process on a per product basis. Most importantly, as the model and its constraints change, the network is updated. Through this patented technology, engineers and designers can focus on the specific product mix that is affecting the efficiency of the process and allows them to focus their efficiency improvement efforts on the correct issues.
